Mission Statement
The purpose of the existence of John Paul II Polish School is to teach Polish language, tradition and culture of our nation
in the process of educating young people, that live on the border of two cultures.
We are also striving to reach the highest level in pedagogical work,
to awaken and solidify the national pride, and to prepare loyal and creative members of Polish-American society.
Teaching Methods
Our school facilitates the learning process by applying the best educational methods, study aids, and the selection of books and workbooks written for
children born on the american soil.
Lessons are led in a manner that facilitates the development of language proficiency:
aim at mastery in speaking, writing and reading skills;
aid in development and understanding main thoughts and ideas conveyed in literature;
supply emotive and esthetic experiences by an exposure to movies, art, painting, and music .
School Curriculum
Considering the needs and students' abilities, our educational program includes:
Polish language,
history,
geography,
and Polish as a second language.
In addition, our school curriculum is supplemented by:
contests,
trips,
meetings with,
exibitions,
theater plays,
movies,
musical concerts,
and other school events (Opłatek, Święconka).
