Independence Day of Poland

One of the most important days in Poland during the year is November 11th, because that is when Poles celebrate the anniversary of the Poland’s National Independence. This day reflects the national feelings of this country and it reminds the struggles that Poland had to overtake during the last centuries.
For 123 years Poland didn’t exist. It was dangerous to have a white and red polish flag at home, at school kids had to study in another language than their own. It was a time when children were beaten for fighting for the right to study in Polish. Poland became independent again in 1918. Now we can speak Polish without fear, cultivate our culture and traditions. This regained freedom is one of the most important values for the Polish nation.

Students of the Polish School of st. John Paul II, together with the teachers and the school board, celebrated the Independence Day.

Trick or Treat!

On October 30 and 31, witches, ghouls and mummies ruled our school. The children took part in the parade. Sweets made them truly happy! There was a lot of smile and fun.

On the coming school days, children will be able to purchase red T-shirts and sweatshirts with the logo of our school. T-shirts are $15 and sweatshirts $30. You’re welcome!

Polish Bilingual Day

In the Polish School of St. John Paul II, we celebrated the Polish Bilingual Day, which is a continuation of the action “We speak Polish in our home!”

The Polish Bilingual Day makes parents and educators aware that they are mainly responsible and privileged to pass the Polish language on to children raised outside Poland. Such an undertaking was necessary to remind Polish families living abroad of how important the mother language is and what powerful capital it can constitute for the future of the young generation born outside the country.
